Where Do You Fit in Social Europe?
On 3–4 March 2026, policymakers, experts, businesses, and civil society representatives gather in Brussels and online for the European Employment and Social Rights Forum.
Hosted by the European Commission, the Forum returns for its fourth edition at The EGG in Brussels. This year’s conversations focus on something deeply relevant to many of us: how Europe responds to rising living costs, job insecurity, and rapid changes in the labor market.
These are not abstract policy topics. They are everyday realities.
Behind every statistic is a person wondering:
- Can I afford new training?
- Will my skills still matter next year?
- Where do I even begin if I want a different future?
The Forum brings together opinion leaders, policymakers, businesses, academics, and civil society to explore bold ideas that protect and strengthen what Europe values most: its people.
But here’s the question we care about at DIAMOND:
Where do you fit in this future?
The Future of Work Is Personal
We often hear phrases like “digital transition,” “labor market reform,” or “social protection systems.” Important words. Necessary conversations.
Yet for many individuals, the future of work feels much simpler and much more immediate.
It looks like:
- Searching for stable employment.
- Trying to understand new technologies.
- Balancing family responsibilities with training.
- Starting over after a setback.
A strong Social Europe must make space for these real-life journeys.
How DIAMOND Fits In
The DIAMOND Empower Project exists precisely at this intersection between policy and people.
While the Forum debates structural reforms and social rights frameworks, DIAMOND focuses on something equally essential: empowering individuals with the skills, confidence, and direction they need to access new opportunities.
We work to ensure that:
- People looking for a fresh start are not left behind.
- Digital transformation does not become digital exclusion.
- Access to skills development feels possible, not overwhelming.
- Opportunity is not just discussed, but reachable.
Because inclusion is not automatic, it requires intention, design, and support.
Social Europe Only Works If It Works for Everyone
The 2026 Forum addresses major challenges: the cost-of-living crisis, job insecurity, and a changing labour market. These challenges disproportionately affect those already navigating transitions: career changers, unemployed individuals, people re-entering the workforce, and those needing new skills.
That is why initiatives like DIAMOND matter.
Social rights are meaningful when:
- Training is accessible.
- Guidance is clear.
- Confidence is rebuilt.
- People feel capable of stepping forward.
Policy sets the direction. Projects like DIAMOND help people move within it.
What Comes Next?
The European Employment and Social Rights Forum invites Europe to shape what comes next.
At DIAMOND, we believe shaping the future of work also means asking individuals:
- What’s stopping you from your next opportunity?
- What support would make the biggest difference?
- What does empowerment look like in your daily life?
The future of work is being discussed in Brussels.
But it will ultimately be lived in classrooms, homes, workplaces, and communities across Europe.
And that’s where DIAMOND continues its mission, turning policy ambition into personal empowerment.
💎 Because a truly strong Social Europe includes everyone.
