Seven Young People Begin DIAMOND Training at Fundación Miradas
Seven young people with intellectual disabilities or autism have begun a 100-hour Digital and Employment Skills Course at Fundación Miradas as part of the DIAMOND Empower.
Over the coming weeks, participants will build digital and employment skills while taking part in the DIAMOND Grassroot Living Lab process. The course offers a new learning opportunity and another step in Fundación Miradas’s work to promote autonomy and employment inclusion.
Digital and Employment Skills
The course covers four areas: digital skills for employment, job searching, the basic use of artificial intelligence, and social skills.
Across the 100 hours of training, the seven participants will work with tools intended to support their pathways towards the labour market. These subjects reflect the content announced by Fundación Miradas at the beginning of the course.
The training forms part of DIAMOND’s wider work on employability and personalised learning. The project’s main goal is to guide people from vulnerable socio-economic backgrounds on their pathways towards employment by tailoring learning programmes to individual needs and strengthening employability.
The Grassroot Living Labs
The course is also connected to the DIAMOND Grassroot Living Labs.
Living Lab sessions are planned at three stages of the training process: an initial session before the course, an intermediate session, and final sessions after the training has been completed. These sessions involve both end users and stakeholders and allow them to share their perspectives on the training and its implementation.
The initial session considers the beginning of the process. The intermediate session takes place while the training is underway, and the final sessions are held once it has concluded. This structure allows participants and stakeholders to contribute at different points rather than only after the complete course.
The selection of the people involved is an important part of the Living Lab process. DIAMOND aims to include different experiences and viewpoints, with every contribution considered valuable to the development of the sessions.
The input gathered will help the project consider what works, what could be improved and how the training is experienced by the people taking part. It will also support DIAMOND’s aim of developing employability approaches that respond more closely to individual needs.
DIAMOND Empower’s Approach to Personalised Employability Support
DIAMOND is developing two main solutions connected to personalised skills development and employment participation.
The ᴱGROW Index (Employability Growth Index) is intended to support the classification and segmentation of user groups according to the content and format of learning programmes. The Modular and Versatile Platform for Engagement and Employability, known as MOVEᴱ, is being developed as a digital platform for lifelong learning with person-centred learning formats and micro-credentials..
The Grassroot Living Lab forms part of DIAMOND’s overall research, innovation and engagement approach. It brings end users and stakeholders into the project process and supports the validation of project outcomes.
At Fundación Miradas, the new 100-hour course provides a local setting for this work. Seven participants will develop digital, employment and social skills while contributing their perspectives through the Living Lab sessions.
